Celtic why we are paranoid book
In particular, the disposal of the registrations of Odsonne Edouard and Kristopher Ajer demonstrates our core strength of being able to transform young talented players into seasoned professional footballers. In turn, we invest the proceeds of these transactions back into the first team squad to enable us to continue to develop our squad and to challenge for future honours. I thank Dom for his contribution over the summer and everyone at Celtic wishes him well for the future. Michael carries the confidence of the Board, he is experienced in Celtic, highly regarded in football circles and is a most effective leader of our executive team.
The entire season captured in the year ended 30 June was characterised by the absence of supporters in football stadiums and the huge disruption to our operations. On behalf of the Board and everyone at the Club, I thank the Celtic support for their backing and understanding last season whilst also sharing their frustration and disappointment. I must also express my gratitude to our sponsors and partners, who were also challenged by the unique circumstances. As we progress through the current season, our objective is to work with the authorities to ensure that we can continue to operate in a safe manner and in a way that facilitates our players being able to give their best and our supporters being able to attend matches at full capacity.
Thats the stadium at full capacity. Not the supporters. We look forward to the season ahead with measured confidence in both our footballing prospects and the robustness of our business model.
Celtic PLC is directed by a Board of individuals with demonstrable experience both of Celtic and wider business, its operations are managed by an executive team of talented specialists led by our Chief Executive and the executive is supported by a dedicated cast of colleagues who have worked tirelessly for the Club over this most difficult financial year.
I thank them all for everything that has been achieved. Celtic is in good hands. Back in the real world, Celtic now have three home fixtures, which should help get the show back on the road after a couple of stumbles. This weekend, an Australian referee, Jarred Gillett, will officiate in an EPL game, the first overseas man to do this.
Jarred Gillett is set to become the first overseas referee in Premier League history, as he takes charge of Watford vs Newcastle on Saturday. Perhaps a call for more openness and progress using the mics would be a way forward, and help to dispel any notion that honest mistakes were not really honest mistakes.
Just watched the Rangers game on Sportscene, was it my imagination were the microphones toned down from the Ibrox terraces. The statement from Celtic shows how the boards minds work. It is not a football club it is a business, the supporters are customers. As for the referees look at the Standard at Ibrokes, offside goals, even the Billy Boys Club were shocked, penalties not given except for the zombies, SPFL and the SFA bringing the game into disrepute, also no monies coming in due to the lunacies of one bitter club,.
Joining me tonight……. Ange appears to be an intelligent individual. He realises that he has an amazing opportunity at Celtic to make a name for himself in Europe and prove all the naysayers wrong that no managers from that part of the world can be a success here. I would like to think that he can quickly spot weaknesses and anything holding him back like, for instance, a backroom team that is perhaps not entirely gelling with his ideas and philosophies.
Mind you, I sincerely thought that, when he was appointed, he would have brought in his own backroom team by now. How many decades have Celtic fans talked about cheating officials and still ploughed their wages into the game? Our is very small three letter word, however, sometimes small words can say a lot. Do the honourable thing , OUR the fans club has stagnated.. Grand Master Funk i. Never thought about that. I was surprised you went for R. I knew tiger was always Hun lurkers on her and I know for certain that the ever Useless Unfit For Purpose is one of them. Did ye know King Billy asked the pope for permission to kill all the Catholics on the Boyne, did ye? They also ousted the sheep in the previous round. McCarthy was lousy at Livi but probably needs a lot more game time to help him click back into form whilst this could be an interesting time for Hendo or Shaw or both to be brought back in from the cold and freshen up the midfield.
Hopefully GG is up to speed enough for the bench, as his absence from even that has been conspicuous. Boli actually faired better than I thought he would last Sunday so who knows.
Agree with the principle of establishing a settled team but our two match a week schedule plus the multiple injury onslaught make it so hard to pull that off. Agree on Kyogo who will also be away with Japan, although hopefully not for the games in October, as he will just be backing playing.
Enjoy the game! He has to be better than ajeti. Not a bad draw — up against the League Cup holders complete with Nigerian international superstar Efe Ambrose. The Hibees will give the currant buns a good run for their money in the other semi. What a rotten bit of luck, eh?
Pretty strange all the same. The nature and extent of the injury have been kept hush hush the poor guy seems to be made of glass. He got charged im sure fuck knows what happened. I could be wrong. This has got eff all to do with tying scarves to goalposts and, if I remember correctly, Celtic fans loved that. What other players have had full team parties and gut away with it through the silence of the media, Cha Cha? What other players have had Covid and got away with it through the silence of the media, Cha Cha?
What other players have had the Convid and got away with it through the silence of the media, Cha Cha? It made as much sense as comparing the cinematography of Blade Runner to Koka Noodles, or the smell of a new fridge to season six of Married At First Sight Australia. And yet, there are numerous Celtic fans who will tell you the latter should attract the same condemnation as the former. Neither Jordan Jones or George Edmundson have kicked a ball for Rangers since their similar flouting of the rules earlier this season.
I wrote for Record Sport in November that there should be no way back for either player, and the same goes for the five confirmed by Steven Gerrard this week as having breached Covid regulations by attending a party at the weekend. If you heard two Rangers players had been suspended for breaching Covid regulations, your response would probably have been 'Okay, Jordan Jones and who else?
At the same time, this was a breach of the rules by five individuals. That mention of Celtic was all some supporters needed.
I think we as a club have been treated differently from other clubs and other parts of society as well. Periods at Bolton and Hibs were Nursery time compared to what is coming his way. We are concerned about his ability to manage effectively both on and on the pitch.
The Treble Treble was won by a team running on empty despite Neil being in charge not because of him. There are many of us who feel that it was grossly irresponsible of the Club and unfair of Pl in particular to offer the job to Neil.
It was emotional Blackmail and we are genuinely concerned for the effect that the mayhem of the next 2 years will have on Neil and his family. We care enough that we will be vocal about our concerns and will not be silenced. If I am wrong then Neil will have my sincerest apologies. What has he done since? Ok Bolton was a poisoned chalice, never could understand why he took it. Hibs: gained promotion from the Championship.
Big deal. Biggest budget in that league. First season in SPFL good showing. Second season, mutually consented with team in 8th position.
These were no Masterful Tactical Classes. The players won those games on ability and grit and in the memorable game against Barcs, we played on the counter , miraculous goalkeeping and a large slice of LUCK. Barca pulverised us that night but the footballing Gods looked down on us that night. Football has moved on everywhere except in this provincial backwater. Anything in Europe is a bonus and he will not invest serious money to make a fist of it there.
Quite a Coup for a Caretaker Manager. If we had faltered in the League or Cup then it would have been hard lines Lenny, and Brenda left us in the shit to the fans and then and only then would the Board have looked around for a manager. PL was playing it to the wire before making a decision and playing us all for Mugs. The vile cretins who abused boys within the Celtic boys club have been charged and are serving time.
The point scoring is a fuckin disgrace. Sadly there was no strict guideline or police disclosures etc to see if the person coaching or working with kids up until the late 90s was required.
This allowed the monsters to infiltrate football and other organisations. The clue is in what folk get paid, the harder something is the more folk get paid. Our wee club is seven years old And about to hit the skids So when you mention D. We damn near flip our lids Words like P.
Oh, S. And fucked O. Jimboh let me say that Neil. Francis Lennon would not have been my first choice but to degrade the man the way you have is unforgivable. You say our and we if your the president or something speaking on behalf of us.
What a load of tosh.! We are genuinly concerned about his ability? Ffs who have you managed or those you speak for over the past 2 years. When BR left not only did he go but he took the whole background staff with him. Neil Lennon came in at the most crucial time in our history and delivered. No one knows the club more than Neil Francis Lennon your comments sir in.
HH PS thank.
